  1. Worst nightmare...class wrestling in Ft. Wayne State Finals. No thanks.
  2. http://www.vipboxtv.me/espn-stream-live
  3. ......in before 100 posts of mostly complaints.
  4. From ISWA Folkstyle State Flyer Weigh-ins On-site weigh-ins for all PeeWee, Bantam, Intermediate, Cadet, & Junior age divisions will be held from 6:30-9:00pm EST on Friday March 10th. On-site weigh-ins for all Novice, SB/SG, Univ, Senior, Veteran, & Women’s age divisions will be held from6:30-9:00pm EST on Saturday March 11th. Upon arrival, wrestlers will proceed directly to skin checks and weigh-ins. All wrestlers must weigh-in wearing a competition singlet. ISWA does not charge for adjusting weight classes after you register. You are free to adjust your weight class at any time, even at weigh-ins.
  5. Why even wait for an official appointment by whoever? Why all the hoops to jump through anyways? Hobart is such a great location and has many respected coaches. Instead of an RTC it could be RTR (Regional Training Room) (If one day the stars and moon line up and someone returns your calls or emails about hosting an RTC, you can then change the RTR to RTC) Just post what day and time you are having an open mat session at your club on this site. I would request proof of current USA wrestling card to cover liability issues.
  6. So much truth written in this post right here.
  7. I sure hope I can change the subject of that silly class wrestling. Bobby Plump would be furious. Oops wrong sport. Do we still need 2 Qualifiers?
  8. Because Indiana is not really experiencing any population growth. (My scarasm font was off)
  9. I'm ok with class wrestling once Indiana population hits 10 million people.
  10. I do remember Mega pinning Nato at NCAA (semi finals?) after a stopped leg pass not long ago. Just this weekend, OK State Heil was pinned by PSU guy (but not called) after he was stopped halfway through a leg pass-funk-scramble. Since leg pass is learned right after baseline defense these days by kids young as elementary age, expect more kids to anticipate them and counter the counter. An NCAA champ explained to me that leg passes works only if offensive guy holds on to leg, he also said "Why hold on to a leg that is going to take you over?" much like "Letting go of a log before it pulls you over the waterfall" Not the biggest fan of ankle diving and leg passes, the toll on the kids knees will be paid later on in life.
  11. B. Lee is very smooth on his feet and being that fluid as a lefty simply baffles high school kids. It appears he is simply drilling during live matches.
  12. Sure divide our state by 3 and have each state champ have barely over 100 kids to start the state series. Why not destroy the strength of our state tournament as we now starting to get national attention and respect? This is a terrible idea. Please lock this thread oo
  13. I spoke to three W.A owners on different occasions throughout the state and they all have said that numerous kids get treated differently when they come back to their HS wrestling programs. Not sure about the other w.a's out there. It is no secret that most wrestling coaches have healthy egos. Anyone close to HS programs and W.A know this goes on to some extent. But it takes a village to raise a kid. Indiana has plenty of caring coaches.
  14. I agree 100% with the ISWA on this. It will help in the long run with increasing the kids safety as well as the general awareness of current wrestling rules and best practices with the helper coaches and crazy dads on the floor. It always amazes me how firmly some coaches (that last wrestled 30 years ago) believe that a move is still fine that is now illegal or potentially dangerous. Just for example the "Figure Four on a limb or around the body " compared to "Scissors on a limb or around the body" ... the rules have changed a couple times. It is completely changed depending when you last competed. Kids today might even be surprised to know that we used to be able to run arm bar and wrist and finish with a figure four around the head as tight as needed.
  15. I've heard Wrestling Academy owners mention how upset some head coaches become and complain about their wrestler training at the W.A. but then go on to say that eventually the head coaches will be the ones walking under the lights with their finalists sharing the glory on Saturday night.
  16. This website is awesome. Sometimes wrongly taken for granted since it has been around a long time. Thanks to the guys that run this site and help keep the spot light on Indiana wrestling.
  17. I did search this topic before I posted it. I must be using that feature wrong...Please show me.
  18. I'm sure this rarely happends. Does anyone know the last time?
  19. The Academies play a huge part of elevating the overall level of Indiana youth wrestling. Much respect to what they do for the kids. But it would be nice to promote the team (community) aspect of the Middle School State tournament. Maybe add a top 3 team trophies after Academy wrestlers are added to their respective school district.
  20. Cummings is a class act. He offer no excuses, the lessons learned from wrestling are apparent.
  21. Things might not have went as planned but I think it would be safe to say all the kids worked hard all season and some all year. This post states the obvious and poor taste to bash these kids.
  22. I wonder what teams would be top 5 if Wrestling Academies were not allowed. Every club has studs that registered under the big three W.A. I am not against the scoring but would like to see the current trends of feeder schools that are building into future power house H.S teams. Everything is in cycles and just look into the past how a few dominant H.S teams have faded into obscurity.
