Coach Otha Taylor had a huge impact on my life.

Hey everyone.
 
I made an announcement on Facebook but wanted to share here as well because I want a great coach to come take this over.
 
Yesterday I resigned as the Head Wrestling Coach at Cascade High School.
 
To many this will come as a shock and it has absolutely nothing to do with Cascade or the state of the program as both of those are in amazing shape.
 
I had to make a decision for myself and do what was best for me professionally to pursue other opportunities.
 
Thank you to everyone who has supported me the past 2 seasons!!
 
I can promise you will see me in a corner next season I just don’t know what colors I will be wearing!

Heartland Wrestle Off Process
 
 
The following roster was selected by the committee for Heartland Duals. If you would like to challenge for a spot the process will go as follows.
 
 
1.    You must request a challenge via email to Ryan@contenderswrestling.com. Request will be taken up to 14th at 6pm.
2.    The challenge date will be either February 22 or 25. This will be chosen by the team member and will be held in the Indianapolis area. You must be able to make the date given there will be no make up dates.
3.    If multiple people request a challenge, there will be a mini- tournament with the winner of that challenging the team member.
4.    You must win a best of three series with the team member.
 
 
Heartland duals is held in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The dates for the tournament are March 24-26th. The cost of the trip is $300 and includes entry and Team Indiana gear.

North Putnam is a solid squad! Definitely should be in the running at 1A

North Putnam really needs to be considered for 1A.  Our results are posted and we will continue to post.  Our losses have came to top teams like Cascade and Owen Valley and we competed with these teams.   We lost by 3 points to #9 Southmont by only 3 and wound have won but and a first year varsity kid get defensively pinned when he was up 8-0 and laid his own back on the mat spladleing the kid.  He learned a valuable lesson.

Peyton Hornsby has a couple wins over Vargo and went 3-2 at IHPO

He will get ranked eventually but Spenser McCammon 6th grader- 70lbs- 106/113
He is a 12X ISWA state champ, 1X middle school state champ, 4X Tulsa Nationals All American, Tulsa Kickoff 3rd place, USA Kids Nationals 4X All American. 4X IndianaTriple Crown winner.

Staples went 6-2 at Preseason Nationals this past weekend and placed 5th.  I would also add Lincoln Hinchman.  Good kid that finds a way to win wherever he goes.

The Blue vs Gold dual is set! October 22nd at 2pm, Marian Wrestling will host their annual intrasquad dual! The dual will feature a ton of great matchups, mostly between Indiana wrestlers. Come join us!

Call me biased all you want! But he is certainly my pick. 

I was pulling for him to go out on top. 

I think that Ty Mills was really good despite never winning a championship. He went 2nd, 3rd, 2nd, 3rd, and had multiple wins over state champs in his career, like Asa Garcia and Jacob Moran. Crazy that he was never able to get a title, I think the closest he got was his junior year when he lost by one point to Cayden Rooks.
