  1. 133- malachi greene went 2-2 with two pins for adrian and placed 7th. He wrestled at triton hs in bourbon.
  2. I don't think 45 would work with something this big, just maybe 25 or 30. First available mat sounds good as well. Most of the kids that just got finished and had to wrestle someone fresh lost anyway. That doesn't exactly do them any favors or lead to a good match. Maybe it's just too big. Pay to play might be the problem. Why not have two semi-state tournaments to qualify for state. Or place 1 or 2 in a few other tournaments to get the right to compete at state. Bigger isn't always better for the athletes.
  3. I'm not worried about the time frame or the performance level. The kids safety (within reason) should come before anything else. And conditioning hasn't dropped that much. Most of these kids are still practicing almost every day. If you haven't even had a chance to let the sweat dry from your last match and the other guy has had an hour and 15 mins to rest. Chances are much higher that you'll get hurt. I think a review of the injuries would back up my statement. The 15 minute rule is selfish and hurts the sport and (more importantly) our kids.
  4. I noticed a lot more injuries at folkstyle state and was very surprised to learn that the iswa only has a fifteen minute wait time before a wrestler can go back out to the mat (vs. 45 for ihsaa). Pretty sure this contributed to injuries. Some kids were wrestling almost back to back. I know it's a big moneygrab of a tournament, but this is just ridiculous.
  5. Rodriguez is so fun to watch. He is my favorite (other than my son of course) My wife saw him helping an older lady down the stairs and he is the only person other than triton kids that helped move the mats at conference. He's a class act. I'll be rooting for him.
  6. Triton should host more tournaments. Everyone i talked to liked it. Easy to see the action from anywhere, Long concession stand so everyone isn't stuck in one line, and multiple bathrooms.
  7. triton practices in a small room that barely holds the kids. it's tiny, pretty sure it's an old boiler room. they do pretty well because of great coaching. that being said.. it's easy to say everyone is equal when you are a big school or even a medium sized school. when you are a small school the differences are quite glaring and the challenge is all the tougher. people that think it's all equal are delusional. you won't hear a small town wrestler say that they have the same opportunity and for good reason. they don't.
  8. I meant triton's schedule overall. I do think knightstown is the odd man out tomorrow though. Like the other poster said, it all depends on who shows up tomorrow. Everyone was acting like triton wasn't even in it, and they have as good a shot as anyone.
  9. Triton should do well. They've had a tougher schedule than both these teams and have been very competitive.
