  1. Both solid teams. One that could be considered an All-Star team from 2008-2018 would be Warren Central 106- Keyuan Murphy (Runner Up) 113- Skylour Turner (4x placer) 120- Dylan Culp (7th place) 126- Brandon Wright (2x State Champ) 132- Deondre Wilson (2x State Champ) 138- Matt McKinney (Runner-up) 145- Antwaun Graves(5th place) 152- Trent Pruitt (State Champ) 160- Dominic Herrick (8th place) 170- Dezman Goddard (7th place) 182- Michael Johnson-Jones (State Champ) 195- Tristan Tonte (3x Runner-up) 220- Courvoisier Morrow (Runner-up) 285- Gabriel Berry (4th place)
  2. Tyler Majors of Lawrence North is a 1st year wrestler in high school. He played football all 4 years.
  3. Let’s be honest about how we rank the semi states. The wrestling, ehh. The atmosphere, ok. The true key to deciding a true winner... the food.
  4. Despain(LN) over Mosconi(CATH) and Kendrex(MV). Both ranked in NC SS
  5. How about the heavyweight 3rd place match last year? Less then 15 seconds (give or take) left, Samuels cuts Clark, now trailing by 1, then takes him down at the buzzer.
  6. What if Nick Lee stays for his senior year? Does he go 145 to wrestle Brayton Lee in the finals for another classic?
  7. How do alternates for state work? Do they get called prior to Friday night or just show up at weigh ins praying to the food gods that someone missed weight?
  8. Very impressive, congrats to all of them for their hard work in the classroom and on the mat!
  9. When will a list of Academic All-State be announced?
  10. Lawrence Central Sectional 152 Semis- Despain(LN) dec. Dickenson(NC) 8-2 152 Finals- Despain(LN) dec. Steele(LC) 7-2
  11. I believe that the LC coach did not provide some type of information for all of his wrestlers (weigh ins, etc.) and they all got seeded 8th or last in their weight class.
  12. 152: Josh Cooper (JEFF) over Joe Lee (EMD) (Dec 5-4)
  13. Gabriel Smith- Lawrence Central is a sophomore
  14. Off-season wrestling(freestyle, greco, OR folkstyle) builds winter champions. I believe freestyle and greco are important styles of wrestling, but lets not take away from folkstyle and all of its benefits. Freestyle and greco isn't 'dying' in the state, but isn't being implemented into systems as much as its used too. If you want to wrestle folkstyle year round, cheers for you. If you want to work on/develop your freestyle or greco game, cheers for you.
  15. Chad Red_______________Chad Red Cody LeCount Nick Lee________________Reece Humphrey___________Chad Red Reece Humphrey Alex Tsirtsis______________Alex Tsirtsis______________Angel Escobedo Toss up for the finals, but I got Angel Jason Tsirtsis Andrae Hernandez_________Angel Escobedo Angel Escobedo
  16. I see a lot of people talking about Angel AFTER high school. Chad Red as a senior vs Angel as a senior.
  17. Chad Red (2016) 132lbs vs Angel Escobedo (2005) 135lbs. Just curious.
  18. I don't know if true or not but apparently he pushed a ref during a match and was DQ for the match, suspended the rest of the year from wrestling, and expelled from school.
  19. This is why I like Indiana wrestling, 1 class, 1 champion. If you wanna be the best in the state, you have to wrestle THE WHOLE state. Its simple.
  20. With a first round upset over Molloy, a great second match against Rhodes, giving RED a run for his money (until RED does what RED can do) and falling short to Black. Great run for the 31-13 sophmore in my opinion.
  21. Cameron Jones and Robert Samuels from LN
