  1. Not agreeing or disagreeing. But given the fact that MD got spanked twice in one day at team state, I can see the point of MD not being on par with MD teams of the past. Yes I said spanked, and yes I saw it with my own eyes. All you have to do is look at the individual records through the year and you begin to see the point. You want to talk about "facts", what was the last MD team to enter the SIAC with a line up with a combined record of 214 wins to 86 loses? I know there are teams that would love to have those combined stats, but hardly a MD par year. MD may be the best in this area, but semi state is where is look for the Coaches Trophy to start slipping from their grasp.
  2. It pains me to agree with Bluebolt1. Evansville has a world class stadium that they put in the one place that makes it an unattractive place to go.
  3. Castle stands a very solid chance may end up with the most sectional champions of any team at the Castle Regional. The Evansville Central sectional will be one to watch closely. Mater Dei should win it but there are some seriously talented kids that could spoil some Westside plans for individuals. Everyone has to show up and take care of their business!
  4. It's not overconfidence Bluebolt1 has a point, they are kids andand many haven't learned humility and sportsmanship are the characteristics that wrestling teaches.
  5. Jourdan needs to drop his attitude and just wrestle. The kids got crazy talent, but he gets in trouble when his attitude Co. Especially out. Ramsey didn't catch him being g sloppy, he caught his thinking he was being cute. Austin Ramsey is a quality opponent, when they meet up again, and they will, Jordan better have he's mind right or he could screw up his path to state
  6. I am hoping to see Nick Lee in the mix, health allowing of course. As for names you don't expect and records you don't expect, let me guess, John Sims is back so he can win a regional championship?
  7. Pool B is worth the drive to Evansville! Mooresville, Center Grove, and Castle! That is one interesting set of duals at thisthis point in the year.
  8. Individual Class argument... Or as we refer to it, the Everyone Gets A Trophy argument. Sooner or later it will sink in. Wrestling is now, as always an individual sport. A school of 600 frequently kicks the butt of a school of 3000 in our sport. Why? The wrestling culture in said school.
  9. The Ford Center is an outstanding venue, literally not a bad seat in the joint. Parking situation sucks, but not a show stopper.
  10. If it's in Congress it will never pass... And Kentucky knows we would just take over anyway. Anything beats having to drive to Southern Michigan just to watch our kids kick Northern butts.
  11. No one is saying Mater Dei isn't the top in the south west, but having seen some of the Indy area schools wrestle early this year, Mater Dei won't just walk in and take the trophy. Castle is young and in expirenced but impressive in their early season performance so far. It's a long year and a lot of things need to happen for a season to be a success. Individuals from each of the 8 SIAC schools have nice shots at taking conference crowns
  12. So let's get it started Teams ranked Mater Dei - they have some legit horses to make a run in February but this is NOT the unstoppable force they once were. With the loss of Nick Lee there is an obvious large set of shoes to fill there. It also appears that never ending well of reserves has all but dried up as of late. Only fielding 6 or 8 reserves has to be unheard of in Mater Dei history. Castle - bringing so tough kids into thisthis fight. Castle is on the opposite end of the spectrum from Mater Dei. A growing youth program is showing strong hints of paying off. Experience and hard work from these kids will put them into a better position as time goes on. Memorial, Central, Reitz - each have some tough individuals, but the over all team depth and number of horses needed to pull off a good showing in the SIAC is a question that needs to be answered. All three can place kids on thethe Mat at the Ford Center if not in Indy NorthNorth, Harrison, Bosse - each have solid individual possibilites. So it begins. Let's hear it
  13. Big -8 ,PAC, SIAC.... Who makes it to the Semi-State mats at the Ford Center later this season?
  14. Not a happy piece of news for the Wildcats. Best wishes to Nick Lee and hope all is well
