  1. That's because Indiana has been on the forefront with PIN's. There has been testing done on the results and it's really accurate. And it will only become more accurate. At the national level there will be some hiccups as some states aren't known for participating in USA events as much as others. But that will even out as those things happen. It favors who you beat, not my kid was a "national" champion in a weight class of two. However, if those states want to get good seeding in bigger national events it will behoove them to participate at more USA national events at least.
  2. We need @TripleB the voice of the South to weigh in on this!
  3. As far as not getting looked at for the rankings, the south is not known for having much information. It's like the old Soviet iron curtain. Lots of tournaments but hardly any on trackwrestling. And not many results put into indianamat. Most of my info has to come from people I know from down there or the few tournaments that are available online.
  4. Great write up @ducktails! Looks like there will be some great 1 vs 4 match ups in the first round. The gym is going to be loud! Does anyone know what the hospitality room will have to offer? My vote is Mission BBQ!
  5. Not bad for a sophomore. He must have mainly won on reversals. Otherwise he would have beaten Jeffrey Huyvaert's takedown record.
  6. This could be the year that you figure out the semi-state algorithm. I believe Garcia!
  7. Is that a heater hanging in the upper left corner?
  8. 2023 933 kids in qualifiers (I believe this may have included the kids that were Tulsa kids that were allowed in last year) 2024 903 kids in first week of qualifiers (4 more qualifiers to go) I think that there may be less kids in the qualifiers this week due to MS State Duals and Kid's Folkstyle Nationals. However, even if they have 150 kids per qualifier, that would put the number at around 1500 kids. That would be a 60% increase participation from last year? I will give you a little less than that for the kids that may try to qualify again this week. But the increase can't be denied. What is Indiana's weakest link for wrestling? Is it youth? No way, we have all kinds of training and events for these kids. Is it HS? No way. We have 3 teams this year represented among the top of the nation. It's middle school. The red headed step child. Middle School is where many start their career. So they end up way behind our wrestlers who have grown up on the mat. Then you have the all of the different weights, different starts/ends to the season throughout the state. MS is just weird. Now you have more of these middle school wrestlers getting USAW cards and competing against better competition. We all saw kids that have never been and wouldn't think about competing at MS state. Now they may have set a goal for themselves to get more training or train after the MS season ends. They might just want to get more involved in going to USAW tournaments since they have a card now. Let's continue to watch how this plays out.
  9. Does anyone know why the meetings are on Wednesday now?
  10. It's hard to find many results from that area. Maybe coaches need to take some time to put those in. I'm sure there are some wrestlers that will contend. It seems like hardly anyone uses trackwrestling down there and not many results posted on indianamat.
  11. I just took them from a list @ducktails has on jeff/JC regional post. I’ve been making some movements of kids based on info I’ve been getting. There have been some injuries or kids that won’t be wrestling sectional. If someone knows which kids have beaten other kids, post it on here. I’m sure there are some changes that need to be made.
  12. Sectional week is quickly approaching! I took @ducktails list from the Jeff vs Jennings Regional and pasted them here. I made a few adjustments based off a couple recent tournaments but definitely did not go in depth. So are there any shake ups after conference? Looks like Columbus East will be the favorite for the team race with Columbus North and Franklin Community fighting for second. And don't forget both Switzerland County and Indian Creek also have some studs that will make some noise as well. Any weight class locks? Any potential weight changes that could shake things up a bit? Let's get the conversation going for the biggest sectional in the state! There will be some great matches happening this year! Jennings County Sectional- 45 Semi State Qualifiers 106 Talon Jessup Columbus East Ethan Rose Switzerland County Aiden Woods Franklin Community Nolan Riley Columbus North 113 Ethan Pittman Madison Ethan Poling East Palik Findley Seymour Liam Curfman Columbus North Rhiley Brennen West Washington Brayden Walters Salem 120 Luke Kirchner Jennings County Eli Stewart Madison Wyatt Behnke Columbus East Dakota Fields Switzerland County 126 Peyton Richards Switzerland County Jason Shuey Columbus North Gage Rutan Columbus East Ryan Million Franklin Community Drew Zuckschwerdt Madison 132 Cohen Long Columbus North Kellen Carter Scottsburg Aiden Miller Columbus East Kegan Jochim Franklin Community Harley Shocke Salem 138 Justice Thornton Columbus North Caleb Kirkpatrick Columbus East Lane Kirchner Jennings County Luke Bechert Franklin Community 144 Caleb Cooper Columbus East Gabe Rose Switzerland County Owen Trimpe Franklin Community Josiah Green Columbus North 150 Nate Anderson Columbus East Cameron Sommers Franklin Community Luke Spurgeon Columbus North RJ Barberis Jennings County Gabe Jackson Switzerland County 157 Asher Ratliff Columbus North Elijah Guyer Indian Creek Lincoln Cooper Columbus East Cori Tonte Franklin Community Evan Bowling Salem 165- Oliver Hallett Indian Creek Clayton Miller Columbus East Cori Fuller Franklin Community Evan Saevre Columbus North Brandon Cornwell Salem 175- Tyler Lake Columbus East Ayden Waggoner Madison Brayden Isley Franklin Community Jensen Bridges Indian Creek Keller DeSpain Columbus North 190 Lance Jones Franklin Community Collin McMahon Columbus East Jose Ramirez Columbus North Sam Hernandez Jennings County 215 Kellen Fellure Franklin Community Jesus Aguillar Seymour James Moss Columbus East Xavior Gindhart Jennings County Noah Daulton Salem HWT Brody Stephens Franklin Community Logan Porter Indian Creek Dominic Piper Columbus East Alex Lozano Columbus North
  13. Asher Ratliff and Jet Goldsberry are two QBs who are wrestlers also.
  14. Can't wait to watch this dual! There are going to be some great match ups.
  15. This is really good. I am not really familiar with the kids from the Jeffersonville sectional. Jason Shuey- Columbus North is 126. He has beaten Madison and East. It will be interesting in the next few weeks to see if there are any changes at some of these weights.
  16. Maybe he will be going 126 and make another run at that weight? That would be interesting...
  17. There will be some weights at regional that won't have a wrestler from the Jeff sectional moving on to semi state. I believe that 157 is one of them. Possibly 106, 126 and 144.
  18. Operator error. If it could be rebuilt then it wasn’t a track issue. It was an operator issue. Track was running fine at multiple tournaments. Now a few weeks ago track really went bonkers for like 3 hours.
  19. Nice little tournament. Well ran and decent competition once you got into the semi finals.
