  1. CP absolutely lost the team title this weekend. Clark wins Friday night, they win the title. If any of their placers win matches against guys they already beat, they win the team title. They had a number of ways to still win the team title but they faltered at almost every turn. Hats off to CG & BB but to pretend like CP didn’t underperform this title away is sticking your head in the sand. As for the, “your program would take 9 medals, 12 qualifiers, etc.”, that is comparing apples to oranges. CP’s program and its resources, recruiting included, eliminates 99% of wrestling programs from having that type of success so to think otherwise is ridiculous. I’m glad to hear you won’t be banning DawgPoundRed or whatever he goes by. The guy hasn’t said anything to warrant banishment especially on a discussion board.
  2. I was referring to a team ring, not individual. Anyone paying attention this season would classify CP’s performance this weekend as incredibly disappointing. They had multiple guys underperform this weekend which was the only way they were going to lose the team race considering they had 2-3 more qualifiers than CG & BB.
  3. I’m really surprised at how poorly CP performed this weekend. It’s a shame they couldn’t get it done this weekend after such a dominating season. Kudos to BB & CG for outwrestling CP and earning the top 2 spots. I don’t think anyone would have guessed CP was going to leave Evansville without a ring. I guess that’s why you wrestle the matches.
  4. What’s the record for most state qualifiers in one year?
  5. Two comments/questions; 1. How many takedowns does Huyavaert have this season? 2. This is a very well written article; kudos to you, young man.
  6. Yes, I’m in favor of class wrestling but that has nothing to do with my original post on this thread which is why send one 6a school to a sectional with all 1A/2a schools? If you want to pick another 6a school and send them to Cville with Zionsville, okay…that makes sense to me but sending just one does not. I could also see sending Lebanon to Cville instead of Zionsville when looking at geography.
  7. Yet 13 sectionals have zero 6a schools in them so your point is moot. A stronger argument would be to divide up the four in sectional 18 and send two to Crawfordsville but to say it makes sense for there to be one is illogical.
  8. Nobody ever said 6A schools shouldn’t be with smaller schools. I have no idea where that came from.
  9. Former rather than the ladder. The IHSAA moved one 6A school to the Crawfordsville sectional but why? I agree with the HSE coach on if they wanted to balance the two sectionals (Frankfort & Cville), go for it and move a few 6a schools over to Cville but to move just one doesn’t make any sense.
  10. I was simply asking if there were any other disparities equal to or greater than my example. It seems odd that the IHSAA would put one 6A school in a sectional where all the other schools are 1A or 2A and I didn’t know if my example was the only one or if there were more. It sounds like this is the only example in the entire state…with Jeffersonville(5A) getting similar good fortune. Not sure why this is the case but I’m all ears if someone can explain it.
  11. Most of you are missing my point so I will clarify… Does any other sectional have one 6A school and the rest are 1A or 2A? Below is a breakdown of the Crawfordsville Sectional schools by enrollment; 1. Zionsville 2242 2. Crawfordsville 696 3. North Montgomery 549 4. Western Boone 511 5. South Vermillion 510 6. Southmont 487 7. Parke Heritage 368 8. Riverton Parke 311 9. Covington 294 10. Fountain Central 275 11. North Vermillion 213
  12. I was inquiring if there were any other sectionals that had one 6A (football) school paired with all 1A & 2A schools which is the case in the Crawfordsville Sectional.
  13. Thanks, Captain Obvious. You clearly didn’t get the point of my post.
  14. Just curious if there is any other sectional with a bigger enrollment discrepancy than the Crawfordsville Sectional? Zionsville has 2242 students and the next biggest school is Crawforsdville at 696. How the IHSAA placed them in that sectional is beyond me.
  15. My favorite one liners to officials; -“Protractors are on sale at Walmart right now.” -“Stevie Wonder would have seen that locked hands.”
  16. They’re out there but like Joe said, they won’t openly admit it. I had more than one experience with a coach who would not advise his football guys to join wrestling. He offered “lifting” in the winter which was an easy excuse for guys not to wrestle. Luckily I had an AD who wouldn’t let them “lift” until after 5pm but that didn’t help my numbers in the room.
  17. If WC had a legitimate reason for all of this, they would have found the tournament director and explained the situation. The fact that nothing has been brought to light on why they left early tells you a lot. When the best excuse their ilk can come up with is, “cultural bias by officials,” you know they’re throwing spaghetti at the wall.
  18. Unless WC has a valid explanation, they shouldn’t be eligible for Team State next year. Others have mentioned this but this is the type of shenanigans that the IHSAA used to justify eliminating the team portion of the post season. Fortunately the IHSWCA can hold schools accountable for this type of tomfoolery.
  19. Can someone please post the list for career pins? I know there is one out there (not sure how updated it is) but I'm having trouble locating it. Any help is appreciated.
  20. Now use your logic for the people trying to use Shenandoah and Mater Dei as reasons why the single class system works. It doesn’t take a genius to see that larger schools dominate in terms of SQ’s, placers, and champs. If you want to grow the sport in Indiana, classing the state series is your best option. Smaller schools will have more success and their programs will grow.
  21. I don’t see how they don’t surpass their team score form last year with those two in the line up. They also had a 106lber from Wyoming Seminary that vanished like a fart in the wind. Throw her in there and they start approaching 200+ team points. It’s hard to keep track with all the recruits moving in and out.
  22. Interesting. I would venture to say that it was disciplinary then. Regardless, it’s a shame for both kids.
  23. Did we ever get a reason why Hawkins didn’t compete this year? Injury or disciplinary reason? I understand not going into details if it’s the latter but I don’t recall seeing any explanation for not wrestling this season. Same goes for Rhinehart at Regionals. Did he miss weight? Injured?
  24. Brackets posted anywhere? Not up on Track yet.
