USA Folkstyle Nationals-University of Northern Iowa
Juggernaut and one other reacted to Perseverance for a topic
Physical maturity was an overwhelming factor. Jesse also attempted an ill-advised throw early in the match that he seemed to never fully recover from psychologically. But I can guarantee you this......Knowing Hector and Jesse as I do, they are probably in the weight room today and counting down the days until Jess can get some redemption.2 points -
Goldman had enough time?
Cosgrove reacted to doctorWrestling for a topic
I think this has come up in previous years, but don't you think its time for IU to make a change? Other Big Ten schools have made changes recently, even Michigan State finally got a new coach last year. Purdue is noticeably better after their change. Goldman has been there 25 years. It doesn't seem like they are in better shape or even headed in a better direction. Surely there would be a young coach out there ready to take on the challenge to make them competitive in the conference. I think top half of the conference would be a big improvement. Humphrey and McFarland had success before him. I think the right coach could get it done.1 point -

Assistant Coach wanted for position in South Florida!!
FCFIGHTER170 reacted to Dave Cloud for a topic
Coach Randy Qualitza is looking for an assistant coach who would like to take over as head coach after a year in the program. Coach Q is a member of the IHSWCA Hall of Fame (Coach, Class of 1985) and the recipient of the Billy Thom Award (2013). Randy's letter is below. If you are interested, reply to Q by the e-mail at the end of the post. Dave Cloud Looking for an Assistant Wrestling Coach Want warm weather instead of the snow you had in March? An opportunity awaits a young coach who would like to work as an assistant coach for one year under Coach Randy Qualitza. The candidate would learn the system for one year and then take over as the head coach. Presently there is only one position open: TV Productions and other teaching assignment. Other positions will open at the end of the school year. It would be an advantage if the candidate were able to coach football as a JV coach. The school is in Hollywood, FL in Broward County, the South Broward Bulldogs. You can view the website on Facebook: South Broward High School Wrestling. If interested contact Coach Q directly: rq1943@yahoo.com1 point -

Yeah......Allred & Drousias won soundly. The Deters match was easily the best Cadet final. They did everything possible to make him earn it! Questionable stall call, didn’t award a borderline takedown......then he wins in UTB on a stall call! The kid kept legs locked as Deters easily got to his feet off bottom twice. Desperation. I was not only impressed with Deters skill set.....but his mental toughness and gas tank to grind out that W and become a National Champ was a privilege to watch.1 point -

What a great guy. I had the privilege of having him as my ref for almost the entire duration of me being a high school wrestler at Franklin. Definitely a class act, and the Johnson family will be praying wholeheartedly for him and his family.1 point
